The pix are amazing. The colors in the sky are a delight. It baffles me that a place so beautiful harbors so much pain and bad memories.
It breaks my heart to see all the people living in the costal plain when there is higher ground so close by. Of course, had they been able to escape the devouring sea by living on the higher ground, a volcano probably would have exploded in their back yard.
The food looks so delicious. I hope you give us a more detailed description. I love Indonesian food - I could not get enough of it when I was there.
